Sew Fun

Yeah, I am still stuck on the wood grain stamp, I am just breaking it in baby. And this week's obsession looks like it is going to be hand stitching. Made this little card from the sketch over at CPS, the weekly sketches are well done and they have a great design team with amazing examples. That cute paper is from My Little Shoebox, I had just enough of a scrap to make this. My Little Shoebox also makes those versatile mini alphas that I just can't stop using, I really need to get some more colors.

Julie is a talented sketch maker over at 52 Sketches, 52 weeks, I have made a couple of lay outs with her sketches and I find them challenging and fun to complete, plus I am getting my photos scrapped! This LO was made with this week's sketch and a bunch of October Afternoon paper, I can't get enough of those colors together. The 3 rectangles of text to the left of the photo are from an old children's book-and I stamped over them with the woodgrain.

CPS Weekly challenge & Something for Lily

Last week at Reflections 2009, I walked around and checked out all the amazing make n takes. There were a couple of ladies hosting a fun project that involved layering these colorful paper flowers and making a small bouquet. Later, I bought a Sassafras stamp set from them in the vendor area. I have wanted this set for months and it was just released. I 'll show it to you later. After we left the event, Katie informed me that those ladies were the owners of Sassafras! They were incredibly kind and generous with freebies. They were so young too!

I had a large scrap left over of this cute My Little Shoebox paper , so I made this sweet banner for Lily's room. The colors are perfect. I am going to try to take a picture of it in her room, it would be so much cuter in there, but the light is always poor. I used Spellbinders ovals on this and Maya Road chipboard letters. The pretty glitter is Pink Paislee.

Mojo Monday & My Little Shoebox

Is it Thursday already? Had to use the air conditioner yesterday, looks like we will need it again today. I think the weather in San Francisco would suit me much better than San Diego. I made two cards using the colorful papers from My Little Shoebox and polka dots from Amuse and Imaginesce (bottom card). The beautiful brown polka dot paper is from the B side of a MLS paper. Get Well Soon

My dear BFF had surgery yesterday and is recovering in the hospital. I had the chance to pop in tonight and tire her out. She is doing just fine, but she really misses her family. When I saw this mini rose plant at Trader Joes today, I knew it would be just the right size for a hospital room. The wooden flag is from Michaels and the paper and tag are My Little Shoebox. Flowers are Prima. Sorry these photos were taken in the evening.

A Little More Color

Lately, my color palette has been limited to earthy colors. I needed to change that up and made this little card last night. I used a beautiful diecut paper from My Little Shoebox, my favorite stamps from Pink Persimmon, felt from Fancy Pants, and a notepad paper from Making Memories. The banners were cut with my heavy duty scallop scissors. My sewing machine was out so I added a little stitching to frame up this card. Speaking of my sewing machine, I am very proud of these aprons that I made this week. I am really happy with the way they turned out. I made one for me and one for Katie. She was invited to do a Make n Take at Reflections 2009 in Newport Beach and I will be there to assist. I am very excited and will take pictures to share!

AMAZING art by Roberto de Vicq de Cumptich and so far the book is fabulous. It would ruin the story to give you a synopsis, but I can tell you that it is about a Nigerian girl and a British woman and how their lives collided. The silhouette is fantastic and I adore the typeface. Love it.
