~Make it Merry, Adornit Blog Party~

Thanks for hopping over to my blog! My name is Samantha Sibbet and just like you, I love pretty paper. This is my very first Adornit blog party and I can't wait to check out all the "merry" crafts on everyone's blogs. I have a couple of projects to share with you, first up is an ornament that I made with chipboard and the ellison die cutter at my lss and some fun My Mind's Eye. The snowflake is from Bazzill-super easy and makes a nice tag for a gift or a little something for a friendly neighbor.

I also want to share this little album that I made with Maya Road kraft envelopes and my favorite Bo Bunny papers. Each of the pages is also an envelope to hold my family's "Christmas Wishes."
I bound the album together with my handy Bind it All. I used rub ons for the title and the snowflakes are Maya Road topped with my fave glitter, Martha Stewart "White Silver".

Emma sat down and sketched her wishes on little cards that I cut down to fit inside her envelope. I think she will enjoy seeing this 15 years from now. Can you tell that the one in the middle is a rocking horse? I thought that was cute.

Thank you for visiting me today! I would love to share some extra goodies with you...all you need to do is become a follower of this blog and leave me a comment letting me know that you joined...I will choose a winner from the list of blog readers/followers on Tuesday. The RAK will include...Maya Road kraft envelopes, sweet little jingle bells, Maya Road sheers, holiday ribbon, mica flakes, glass glitter, Maya Road Pins, crepe and a few more vintage treasures.

Are you ready for some more holiday fun? Your next stop in the blog party is Lauri, click HERE to visit Lauri!!

Cut n' Paste

While I was putting together my post from yesterday, I came upon this mini album that I made with the K and Co Cut n' Paste. I noticed that I never posted the entire album here, so I thought that I would share it with you today. I originally created it for a design team submission for a monthly kit club....that I did not get asked to join....which I am very happy about...instead I was meant to be a part of the Freehand Scraps team, where I have made real friendships that I treasure. There is a ton of Maya Road in here, you know how much I love it.

Still Using My Stash!

Have you ever started a lo and just couldn't figure out what the heck to do with it? Something or a lot of things just weren't working the way you thought they would. That's the case with this lo of the girls and I . I started this lo in the spring, around the time that I purchased this K and Co paper, which by the way is my most favorite paper pad ever. Of the few pads that I buy, I usually use a few sheets of paper and then tire of it and give it away or sell it at a lss sale. "Cut n' Paste" stole my heart and I still love it. Anyway, I started this lo with a large photo from Lily's birthday and it just never looked right to me, so I stuck it in a page protector and filed it away. Every once in awhile I would come upon it as I shuffled papers around my desk from one pile to the next. Well, I decided now was the time to either scrap with it or turn it into a card or something. I didn't want to just throw it out because I do love the paper and I spent a long time sewing on it. So, this is what I came up with and i am happy.....that it is over and done with! A rare photo of me with my girls and they aren't even looking at the camera...of course.

The collage card in the last post used die cuts from the line and this lo includes the paper. I also have some old posts of this line here, here
and here.

Most of the embellishments on this page are from GCD Studios, they are a part of the Melody Ross line called Artsy Urban, I was the lucky winner of the embellishments, but I haven't had a chance to get the paper yet, it will be sold at Michael's, but it hasn't arrived at mine yet. I also made a mini album with this collection and I never did post the whole album here, so I think I will do so tomorrow.

Here is another collage card...
I like that style, can you tell? I used Upsy Daisy patterned paper and die cuts from K and Co and Sassafras. The little pinwheel stamp is Studio Calico and you can see my favorite wood grain stamp layered over the bingo card

Something Simple and a New Project

So, I haven't been very scrappy lately, ever since I was sick, I have just slowed down...
and miss my paper and glue! I made these cards today at nap time, used up some wonderful Pebbles Inc. scraps. The vintage die cuts are from K and Co.
Here's a peek at what I am working on...

I recently read about Ali Edwards December Daily album and I love the concept. Journaling about each day in December is something that I think my girls will enjoy reading some day. They are still young and probably won't remember what we are up to this December. We already have a lot planned, Emma will be turning 4 and we are going to Disneyland!

For the album, I am using up a bunch of Christmas paper that I have acquired. Yippee, using up the stash! I did buy a few different packs of the beautiful K and Co Evergreen embellishments. Love the vintage look to them.

My mom just returned from Taiwan, she brought back 4 pairs of shoes for the girls... 2 pairs are Hello Kitty boots, can't wait to see those!

Freehand Scraps and Post Halloween

Okay, I have to admit that Halloween has never been a big deal to me. I was never one to put a lot of thought into a costume, I don't like anything scary or macabre, I am just not that into it. Last year Emma's costume (pirate) was based around the cutest black and white Hanna Andersson tights and patent Gymboree boots. Priorities. Well, guess what that has changed my friends. I had such a delightful time last night, I love Halloween! The girls really had a great time, they were just amazed that people were putting the prettiest little candies in their buckets.
Look at those baby legs stuffed into the leopard tights! Love It! She resisted this costume all month and I really wasn't sure if I would be able to get her to wear it, but when the time came to get dressed, she whined a little but I was persistant and I think she ended up liking it.

The November kit at Freehand Scraps is for sale! This kit is stuffed with papers perfect for your Fall photographs. I still have enough left over from my kit for a couple more lay outs. I made this 8.5x11 two pager of our trip to the apple orchard last month. Cute animals? In the kit. Fabric and chipboard clouds ? In the kit.

Here's one of Lily and her collection of rotten apples. I wanted to bring attention to the apples so I stitched a circle around her basket of yuck.

Love the colors in this collection of papers.

Messed around with Maya Mist (Bubblegum) here. I am definitely an amateur when it comes to misting, but it is heaps of fun to try. I used the blue scalloped paper to make a mask and the then misted the top and bottom of the paper. Emma was born with the bluest eyes. Her daddy and every single person on his side of the family has blue eyes. Her eyes stayed blue until she was 2.5 . Now they still have some blue in them, but there is green and just around the iris they are are golden. Is that a version of hazel?

I think this lay out of Emma is my favorite of the bunch. I love the sweet photos of her, I love the memory of this day we spent together as a family and I think the papers really layered well together.

I already used the birthday card below! I hope you will check out the Freehand Scraps gallery this month, it's fun to see what everyone comes up with using the same kit.
