Freehand Scraps May, Cherry Blossom~ Part Three

Super simple lay out here, I wanted to explain one of the embellishments that I altered. But first I thought I would tell the story of the photo. It's from our ten year anniversary party, my husband planned a big ol' bbq for us and it was amazing to have our friends and family all in one spot to celebrate our marriage again. Funny to see everyone with kiddies now, so different from a decade ago. When I see friends, I really don't see them getting any older...until I see their kids. Then I start to fell old! 7,8,9 year olds are big!
For our wedding, my mother in law let us use her cake knife to cut the wedding cake. The same knife that she and my father in law used over 40 years ago to cut their cake. It has their names and wedding date engraved on the handle. I had no idea that she would bring it to our party and I am so thankful that she did, I am a lucky girl, I have a wonderful mom and mother in law. So I took my American Crafts felt heart cutie and I separated the blue circle from the hearts, it came off with a little tug.

I spiral cut the blue felt circle and rolled it into a flower. I used craft glue and a pin to keep it together. After the glue dries I sprayed the flower with Maya Mist Latte and let it dry...

After I placed it on my lay out, I added a little pearl to brighten it up. Easy Peasy.
