A Banner Day

Happy Monday! Just got back from the doc, Lily had her 15 month appt. and she has a clean bill of health. She will need to see an allergist about a possible peanut allergy. Last December I took a fun class over at Paper Tales taught by Katie Watson. She showed us how to make the purdiest Christmas banners with the Maya Road Chipboard Banner books. Last night I made a Mother's Day banner using Fancy Pants paper, Prima velvet leaves,Maya Road~banner book, frames, bird, velvet flowers, ric rac. I also used some fun vintage elements~ the paper on the frames around the flowers is from a 1961 Farmers Almanac, used to keep track of your crops. I photocopied the pages to use in this project. I found the almanac in my grandmother's night stand when we had a few pieces of her furniture shipped from Tennessee. The ruler at the top of the banners is photocopied from the back cover the almanac. I inked just about all my edges with Ranger Sepia ink, as usual. The ribbon medallion was made from a ribbon that came off the packaging for a blanket~like my grandmother, I tend to save all kinds of junk.
