2010

My parents have been in town for two weeks, they are leaving early tomorrow, it's about a 5 hour drive back to their home on the Central Coast. So on this last night that they are here, a night that I planned a date with my husband (they babysat), my mom decided that yes she does want to buy the two Yorkshire Terrier puppies from my brother's friend. So my brother brought the puppies over tonight, while I was out to dinner...I got to hold the baby boo boo yorkie puppies for like 30 minutes til my dad said he had to hit the sack to get an early start...and off they went back to their RV....10 minutes down the road. No puppy loving for me and no photo shoot of those cuties with my little girls in good light. I am so annoyed! So now I have to plan a trip to my parents...soon, before those puppies grow up! I'm thinking the weekend after CHA. My husband thinks it would be great if the girls and I were gone for Superbowl weekend, isn't he mean?
Have you had a chance to check out this month's kit for Freehand Scraps? It's wonderful and once again I really enjoyed putting these layouts together.

I love everything about the Basic Grey doily papers. I made a quick little heart template and used repositional adhesive to keep it in place while I pierced holes with my paper piercer. Makes the hand stitching so much easier.
With the help of a paper doily I misted with Maya Road cream mist...try it you'll like it!
These are photos of Emma when she was two. I took her to this little nursery/farm for a photo shoot for our Christmas card. She used to be so easy and fun to photograph, she was still and her face serene. Now, not so much, more of a mess.

For Emma's fourth birthday this past December, we celebrated with cupcakes at the mall and then went to Build a Bear Workshop and everyone made a stuffed animal. I highly recommend this if you are like me and don't want a party at your house! The staff at Build a Bear are amazing with kids and basically took charge of my party, I just stood back and chatted with the other moms and I took a ton of photos. I loved it, even made the reservation on line! I might do this again for Lily's second birthday that is coming up at the end of this month.

I used the October Afternoon alphas with this one, I just painted them teal and sprinkled on a pinch of glitter. The mat for this photo is a pretty scrap of fabric that is included with the kit. I also added the teal paint to the edges of this 8.5 x 11.

Yippee for the robots, I finally made some cards that I can give to boys!

I outlined the alphas with a black sharpie to give them a little more definition. I cut my circles with a Martha Stewart circle cutter, it's my very first circle cutter! I like it. I outlined the blue circle with turquoise glitter, can you see it?
And on this last card I covered the alphas with liquid glass from Close to My Heart and I used a fine glue pen and silver glitter to outline the robot cutie.
