Something We Do

3 more days! I am excited for the girls, Emma thinks the Santa business is a little strange and I can see her 4 year old wheels turning any time we talk about Santa. She believes, but I think it is also a little scary for her.

My parents are in town, much to the delight of the grandchildren. They will be here for 2 weeks and they stay in a giant RV about ten minutes away. My mom usually cooks when she is around, because she is way better at than me. One thing I love is "hot pot" in Chinese it is fo gwo, it consists of soup, bean thread noodles, tons of Asian greens and raw meat like chicken, shrimp and filet mignon. You cook it all in an electric powered hot pot on your table and you add the ingredients as you want them. Using chopsticks you just cook your own food right in front of you within the soup. I love it. So does my mom and brother...but my dad and husband don't want to have anything to do with sitting around and cooking their own food. I should add that David thinks fondue and fondue restaurants are ridiculous...he still complains about going to one for my birthday 8 years ago. So we make them an alternate dinner! Anyway thought I would share a family tradition.

That looks familiar and I can't believe your DH wouldn't like it!!! LOL. Mine is an extremely picky eater (no cheese, no tomato read: no Italian :( ) but he loves hot pot :) Where's the layout featuring these pictures?? LOL
