October's Gallery....It's already October?

I know you must be in disbelief as well. One minute it is summer and the next, BAM, it is October! I really can't believe it. A new month also means a brand new kit from Heidi over at Freehand Scraps. Beautiful kit, beautiful papers and fun embellishments to play with.
The photo above is Emma on her third birthday. I love the light coming through the window. I love this photo.
Below is a cheapy one dollar frame from Michaels, I think the oval ones are perfect. This is a picture I will always treasure, took it a few weeks ago during a Sunday afternoon out. Emma said , "this is the best day mommy". I agree.

This next lo is my favorite. A pumpkin patch photo of little Emma, she wasn't walking yet so it was super easy to prop her next to a big pumpkin and she would just hold on while I snapped away with the camera. She was an easy baby like that. Not Lily.

For the wood grain on the chipboard house and on the lo, I painted with acrylic paint first and then went over it with the Hero Arts wood grain background. I really like the way it turned out and I wish I had painted a larger area on the lo.

Do you love the tulle flower as much as me?

A lot of Miss Emma this month! Here she is with her best buddy at dance class. they are so cute! The Fancy Pants frame reminded me of a large ornate mirror. If you are ready too see what the rest of the dt did with the October kit ...click HERE!

Pebblicious and Another Sneak at October

Akiko is hosting the blog for Pebbles Inc. this week. She is a sweet sweet gal and she creates such lovely pages. This week she challenged us to make our own flower embellishments. I Made mine with scalloped and circle punches and I scrunched them up and ran a sanding block all over . The leaf punch is Martha Stewart. I made the fabric ticking brad with an Imaginesce I top brad maker. These two beautiful girls are cousins to my girls. They all are so in love with each other, I just love it. Definitely hop on over to the Pebbles blog to see what the other DT created with this challenge.

And last, I have a couple more sneaks of the beautiful kit from Freehand Scraps.
Kit goes on sale October first. Have you ever tried a kit club? It's like a wonderful gift you send to yourself each month! I highly recommend it!

The girls at Purple Cows have been mighty busy. I just love the World Series Party Invites that are posted right now! You can check them out right HERE.

A Little of Both

It's the end of September and I've got fall on my mind. Of course it has been in the 90's this week. Didn't stop me from scrapping a fall pic from last year. I love love love the colors from fall photos, there is no better prop than a pile of pumpkins...I think my mostest favoritest of all. The girls and I took a trip up to the Central Coast last fall and visited the pumpkin patch at Avila Farms at Avila Beach, my parents live a few miles away.
While fall may be on my mind, this is our reality. Yesterday we took the girls to the beach. He made it very very clear that we would be leaving by 12:30PM , can't be late for Chargers kick off. Speaking of football, I wanted to take more interest in the season so that I could be more involved with something that hubby enjoys. So this is the second week that we have each picked the winners of each game and placed wagers. And this is the second week that I have WON! Oh yeah, I have picked more winners that he has for both weeks that we have played. And yesterday during the charger game I went out and collected my first week's winnings, a pedicure. Feels great to beat him, it really does. And you know what, I do pick the teams with the cutest quarterbacks. By the way, I did pick DETROIT yesterday. Have a little faith baby.

Daddy needs his rest, doesn't know that he is gonna get smoked by moi in football picks.

Yes, there are always 1000 more photos of this one, the other one just runs around.

Friends with Flair...Unity

Yikes , took some quickie photos this morning for the Unity Friends blog hop. Photos are a bit sad and I will redo later! {these are the new photos, better but still not the best...arghh!} Used Unity on a lay out this week. Years ago, way before we were parents, David attended a conference in New Orleans and I came along. Love New Orleans, my favorites were the homes in the Garden District and the old cemetery.

A KIndred Spirit

Beautiful My Mind's Eye Paper, love the texture of them. Kindred Spirit, that's my girl. I have always loved those two words together, ever since I read them in the Anne of Green Gables series. Come on I know that you are out there...who else loves those books? I can't wait to read them again, this time with my daughters. Click on photo to enlarge.
I like making our Christmas cards each year and I found these at Michaels for $1.99 a pack. Thought they would make perfect card bases.

She is sooooo tired!

Lily's Favorite Pink Persimmon

Yes, even a 20 month old can have a favorite stamp and in this case Miss Lily Bee loves the Scotty dogs from Pink Persimmon! Can't blame her they are so darn cute! All week long there are challenges on Caardvarks. This first one was designed by Heidi Van Laar.
In addition to the Scotty dogs, I slao used the Soda Pop large lowercase alphas from Pink Persimmon and the fun argyle paper was sent to me from my friend Lexi. I colored in the the bow with a watercolor pencil and went over it with a water brush.

She is Such a Winner...of Pink Persimmon, Baby!

Thank you for the great response! I really enjoyed reading your comments and finding out what stamps make you happy. What a joy it is to take on new readers too, thank you and welcome! I did not calculate, but on this blog the "Banners" were the favorite followed by "Little Red Wagon". I just finished a Halloween project using both those sets that I will share with you next month. Yes, a winner has been chosen. First I wanted to share with you the very scientific way that it was done as governed by the Crafters of America Union. I printed out all 127 comments and numbered them, some comments received more than one number because the commenter also added themselves as a follower and/or added a link to their blog. So there were some commenters that had 3 entries into the drawing. I also scratched out at least one comment, it was from a fellow creative team member. So that means I had exactly 150 entries. I used Random.org to generate a number and it picked number 101. Incidentally, #101 was also #100, she had two entries since she became a blog follower.
And the winner of the Pink Persimmon stamps goes to...

Thrilled

I am thrilled to announce that I will be a part of the very first Pink Persimmon Creative Team!

To celebrate this fun occasion, Pink Persimmon is having a drawing on each of our blogs. More about that in a little bit...

First, I wanted to tell you a little bit about this exciting news. I discovered Pink Persimmon last October while late night blog hopping. I am sorry to say that I don't know whose blog it was that featured the stamps, but I do know that it was the large banner set and alphas that caught my eye and as quick as can be I hopped over to the Pink Persimmon web site and ordered them right up. The first project I made were the invitations above to my daughters' birthday party. I love those banner stamps and if you have been reading this blog for awhile then you know I use them a bunch, maybe more than any other set that I have.

This past summer, Pink Persimmon celebrated their first birthday and had a contest a week all month long. Each submission would be added to the weekly drawing. I worked so hard on my submissions! The card above was entered into the pink and orange contest. Well, it was not my lucky month, my name was never drawn....but don't get too sad for me yet, the next month there was a drawing, you had to leave a comment and I did win! I made the thank you below for the owners Darcy and Judi (it is a virtual thank you, I haven't actually mailed it)!
Click HERE to see a layout that I made with the banner stamps.

I inquired about a design team and was informed that indeed a creative team call was being planned!

I was so excited when I got the newsletter announcing the call for team members (maybe I was the only one that got the newsletter?) I was less excited when I saw the call on Split Coast Stampers and the post had over 500 views! I got a little intimidated! But I adore these stamps and decided I must give it a go. I am honored to be on the team and very thankful.

Ready to win some Pink Persimmon stamps? You already know what my favorite set is, for a chance to win a set of stamps, please leave a comment telling me what your favorite Pink Persimmon stamp set is. I will throw all the names into a hat and pick a winner Saturday, September 19th at 6 am PST.

Would you like two chances to win? Scroll down my blog, and add your name to "Follow" As a reader of this blog you will stay informed about all things PINK PERSIMMON! Leave me a comment letting me know that you did this!

Wait, how about having 3 chances to win! Mention this giveaway on your blog and link it back to this post! That's it and I will put your name in 3 times. Just don't forget to tell me that you did this! Thank you!

That's not all! Each member of the Creative Team for Pink Persimmon is having a drawing on their blog! Head over to check out these talented ladies and let them know what your fave set is for a chance to win a set of PINK PERSIMMON STAMPS.

Want to see all the sets that Pink Persimmon makes? Well, click HERE.
Winner will be announced here Sunday morning! Please check back to see if you have won.
