So Off The Page

My big brother just bought his first house and he gets the keys this week. I am so proud of him. He will only be 45 minutes away now, he was over 2 hours before. I wanted to make him a little decoration for his entryway, nothing to girly! I thought Collage Press, Knave of Hearts would do the trick. The cloud paper is one of my most favorite pieces of paper ever. It reminds me of the ceiling in the Sistine Chapel. Gorgeous. The *C* is for his last name. Hey ladies, he is single!
Hey Lexie, there is our new border punch!

The fun wooden shaped piece was made by Kim Hesson, she creates lovely wooden shapes to use in crafting. This was my last piece that I bought from her. The plaque with the glass knob is just a piece that I was lucky to find for just $2. I knew I would figure out something someday! The keyholes are from Tim Holtz. Letter C was sprayed with Maya Rd mist.

Can anyone spot the Maya Road in the photo below?

Can you see it now? The blue butterflies and bluebirds are Maya Road trinkets! Yep, I thought they would be perfect for these bracelets that I made.

This one has a long way to go, my best British friend just had a birthday so I need to get it in the mail asap. I put one blue bead and one pink bead, for her Oliver and Connie.

Don't forget to come on by tomorrow to see all the stuff you need to have from the Freehand Scraps kit!

Swinter

Here it is, so far my most favorite Christmas release is this BoBunny Vintage Christmas. I just love the colors. I paired it with the amazing Maya Road, I used the new crystals, ribbon and mini snowflakes. The lace, banner and letters are also MR.
That little frame stamp is Pink Paislee. Of course that is Martha Stewart glitter! The jump rings are Tim Holtz. This little banner was made up with goodies from Yellow Bird and I will be leaving it there for display.

My trusty scor pal helped me make the medallions. That ribbon is luscious.

Please come back tomorrow to see what I made with my Freehand Scraps Kit, like I said before, I love this kit and really got a lot out of it.

The Purple Cows blog has a new project and it is fabulous...hint :snorkel + mini.....go see it HERE.
Pebbles Inc.
has a new post up, this week take a look at some monochromatic layouts from the team. I thought it was great, I never think like that.

BFF

One of our little friends is celebrating her second birthday. Simple little princess banner, easy and quick! The banner is chipboard from Maya Road and I only needed one sheet of double sided paper to complete this! I used Imaginesce, their princess line. The crowns and alphas are also Maya Road. Used Glitter on the crowns and Kaiser Craft paint and Liquid Glass on the alphas. Easy Peasy little gift. Sorry for the bad photo, but it was the best I could do, the banner is leaving the house today.

Here she is, my bff, we had the chance to scrap together yesterday at Yellow Bird! She made the sweetest *SPOOKY* banner with the same Maya Road chipboard. I was actually working on a Christmas banner for the store. I am almost finished with it.
Look at how neat she is while she scraps, I am so impressed! My area never looks like this. Ever.

On Your Marks

Here's something fun, Marks Paper Co. has this free downloadable paper for you to get crafty with. They also have a little challenge to go along with it. Here's mine.
Anyone else out there covered in glitter right now? It is all over me and the carpet and I think I saw some sparkles on my dog. Poor Chloebear!

Hallmark Here

I am sooooooo stocked up on cards, now I really have no excuse for not sending cards to friends.
The pink ruffle around the cupcake is crepe.

The top two were made with the Unity Kit for August and the last card was made from Eco Chic. I was lucky to have won that set a few weeks ago, thank you Unity!!

All paper is by A Muse.

Houndstooth is Hot...

Come on, you know it is, haven't you seen it here and there, the b sides of paper. It was lurking for a while, but it looks like houndstooth is coming on strong this fall. I love this version from Upsy Daisy, it is soft and feminine. I have more houndstooth from Pebbles Inc. that I am anxious to play with, hopefully soon.

September Sneakin'

If you are on the fence about joining a kit club.....well, now is the time to hop off and DO it! You are going to love everything about the September offering from Freehand Scraps. Love IT! Brand new Cosmo, handmade embellishment and a vintage school flashcard~yum!
This kit was a breeze to get started on, my first day with it I made two layouts and pretty much had the rest planned out in my head. I had a lot of nice scraps and I didn't want to waste a bit of this kit so I also made 4 cards! Heidi will have the kit up for sale on September 1. I can't wait to see what my new friend Lexi has made ~plus the rest of the talented team! Oh, and I wonder who the guest designer is, hmm.

A Very Simple Way to Color

When it comes to stamping, I don't do a lot of coloring. I stamp on patterned paper and cut. However there are some stamps that have to be colored to truly enjoy their beauty. I thought I would show you a quick and easy way to acheive this. Here are the supplies that I used. that is a water brush pen, you can fill it up with water. They can be found in your arts and crafts stores. Stamp your image with dye ink, I like to stamp a few in case I make a smudge or want to make an extra card.

Color in with the watercolor pencil, use light strokes, unless you want a lot of pigment.

Go over your coloring with the water brush. Make sure the bristles are just a bit damp, not dripping wet or dry.

Repeat with another color.

You can also use the water brush directly on the pencil. Just swipe the brush over the color and apply to image.

Between colors you should always wipe your water brush off to clean off the pigment. I think a paper towel works best.

See, I told you this would be easy. If you have any questions please ask. If this tutorial was helpful, please let me know, should I do more?

Just One

Just one little card for the Unity Hip Hop today. Not feeling so well. I made this card with the new August KOM and I dig the damask. The little ticket that I stamped on is a Sassafras sticker. So who is getting the new scrapbook stamps from Unity? They are so tempting...

Sew Punny

October Afternoon is requesting your punniest cards, so here is mine...
I have always loved this deer paper, I think I bought 4 sheets of it, anyone else crazy like that? The green/white polka dots are from the 8x8 road map pack.

Went to the beach today and neither of the lil' ones napped at home....what? I only go to the beach to get them tired!!

My Summer Girls (tons of photos!)

This mini album will be featured in the August Scrapbook Trends Magazine 2010.
This little mini records what the girls and I have been up to so far this summer.

All of the paper is BasicGrey Lemonade and the album and embellishments are Maya Road.

That magnetic clasp is also from BasicGrey, I painted it with Kaiser Craft, Antique Linen, after it was dry I scratched it up with scissors.

After painting my letters, I applied Close to My Heart-Liquid Glass, I think Diamond Glaze does the same thing.
The Basic Grey chipboard for this line was lovely to work with. I wouldn't mind having another pack.

I wanted the white Maya Road rubons to show up a little better so I rubbed a little blue Pebbles Inc chalk across the last 6 letters.

I rubbed a little chalk on the stitching here, it was too subtle otherwise.

After the pink paint dried on these letters, I added Martha Stewart crystal glitter. It is my new favorite product.

This mini is my entry to the "Summer Fun" contest over at Maya Road. Who wouldn't want to win more Maya Road Goodies? You can tell by now that I love Maya Rd!

Even these sweet little birdy charms are Maya Road!

I used the crop o dile to punch through the ladybug and sheer. I didn't think the ladybug would adhere very well there, so I tied her down.

All of the beautiful ribbon in this book are from Maya Road.

This flower came with a pearl center, but I snipped it off and put in the button. I thought it suited the feel of the book better.

I can never ever get the girls to stay still for a picture. So this was the best that I could do!

More liquid glass applied to the letters and I wanted the paisleys to look like water drops.

Lily does not like the spray park. She just sticks by me and watches her big sister. This photo of Emma is my most favorite of the summer. I love it and will probably scrap it a few more times. I also love how these pages turned out. I realy like these Pink Paislee chipboard letters and the simple embellishment of 1 button and 2 leaves.

The aqua paint is from Kaiser Craft, it is called Sea Breeze. I love it and can't wait to play with it some more. I also used Antique Linen and Pretty Pink on the cover.
Those little stickers are October Afternoon. I told you there were going to be a lot of pictures! Thanks for staying with me. If you have any questions about anything I did here, please ask!
xoxo, Samantha

Unity for All

A card for lovers and another for a homecoming or housewarming.

I used the arrows from the August Kit of the Month to make these little houses.

Don't forget to check out the Pebbles Inc. blog for some inspiration! You can also find instructions for the acrylic mini that I made over on the Purple Cows blog.
