Happy 4th

Oh, this was so much fun...I really enjoyed putting this together. All that cute paper is from Fancy Pants. They are from a few different lines, but I thought they looked great together.
This poem is on the back cover.

Yes these pictures are before they had a chance to eat! And get all messy! I will show you a messy pic later...choco cupcake messy too. I will post a winner to the RAK tomorrow, I still need to write all the names down and throw them in a hat.

I also used some journaling spots to frame photos.

Picnic Power

Okay, I admit that I bought these pinwheels from the Target dollar spot just because I thought they would look cute in a layout with the girls. If that isn't sad enough, when we got to our playgroup family picnic, I wouldn't let them eat until I got a few pics taken first. Yep, no food til momma gets her pictures. I completely forgot about the picnic while I was shopping the day before and I am not one to keep a stocked pantry, so I brought 3 packs of snacks. Sad. And now we are totally out of dry snacks around here. I did let her eat a giant chocolate cupcake and BBQ chips. Lily was very busy chasing the squirrels that kept running in and out of the bushes. She thought they were teeny tiny doggies.
Do you recognize those stamps? Yes those are my Pink Persimmon Banner stamps that I use every other project. This Lo is based on a sketch from the sketch site, Triple the Sketch. Kenner Road has posted a color challenge, use red and green-thought these Cosmo Cricket papers would be perfect for it. Those pretty butterfly stamps are from Unity.

Wow this picture is really washed out, I will fix it later. Here's a little card for you.

Melts My Heart Everytime

Emma was a teeny tiny baby, just 4.5 lbs. Easy to hold, easy to love.

David used to say that he couldn't help but fall asleep when she slept on him.

This beautiful paper is from Collage Press. I also ordered this beautiful cloud paper. It is like a Michaelangelo dream.

Clean and simple

Just thought I would mention that I DIDN'T HAVE ANY DRUGS when I gave birth to Lily. Not by choice, it all happened a little too quickly. Awful -and I was in a lot of pain when this photo was taken. I couldn't hold her for more than a few moments. I think she went right into my mother in laws arms, who was right by my side.
The fabric flower is a strip of polyester pleated trim. I don't know what it for, maybe a ladies collar? The trick to framing your layout with paper strips is this, what ever the width of your strip, let's say you have a 1 inch paper strip, you need to measure the same from each side and when you make your angled cut you will cut from the 1 inch measured mark , across the paper to the opposite side corner. Does that make sense? Should I take pictures?

This is Tommy, my best friend's eldest son. He is 7 now. Time sure does fly.

I made the circles with a piercing tool and the Bazzill sewing templates, which I really love. Both lo's are from the June Studio Calico kits. It's kind of fun to challenge myself and try to use only what was included....but I did add in 3 or 4 of my own embellishments. I like kits a lot- fun to use things that I might not have noticed before.
Fun day planned today, I am cropping with girlfriends!!

Unity Rules and My First GiveAway

This first card follows a sketch from the challenge site, The Pink Elephant. All the rest are sketches from Verve. I used Unity stamps on all, June Kit of the month and A Bevy of Butterflies. I really love the unity stamps. They have great designers/artists working for them, makes me want to stamp some more. I am excited for tomorrow to come..Yellow Bird is having a "Garage Sale" on Saturday and tomorrow I get to drop off the 3 boxes of scrapbooking stuff that I don't use anymore and hopefully someone who needs it will buy it! I am getting rid of 75% of my Close to My heart Acrylic stamps, CTMH storage boxes, some vintage goody bags that I put together, gosh, I can't remember what else i put out there. I just thought of something, I would love to pack up a vintage goody bag for one of YOU! ( I buy the stuff in bulk) Okay all you need to do is add your name over there on the right where it says FOLLOW, as in follow this blog and leave a comment here. If you already follow, then just leave a comment. I will choose a winner on Monday from the list of blog followers! Tomorrow I will take a pic of the RAK.
This next card is for the MOJO MONDAY Challenge #92

The following card is for a playgroup friend that had twins last week, a girl & boy.

Cupcakes ~Yum

Pink Persimmon is continuing their birthday with a cupcake challenge on their blog. I used my trusty Pink Persimmon banner stamps again...I think I need some more Pink Persimmon stamps!! We went to a birthday party today and I decided to take some cupcakes for this little project. Emma liked it too. Too bad she didn't get to eat one of these for dessert, she dumped a bottle of mustard behind the couch and went to bed early...
Look how I cut these out! I used my Purple Cows Freestyle cutter and the postage stamp blade and look how easy it was.

I was a little lazy wit Lily's bath tonight. I just stuck her in the kitchen sink. All clean.

Circle Journal {round 1}

Earlier, I mentioned that I was participating in a circle journal swap with the the other design team members over at Yellow Bird. I have always wanted to do one of these. Each gal picked a theme, mine is "Love is here everyday". This is my cover. All albums are 6x6 except one.

I included a sign in page for mine, the pocket holds a set of tags for the different designers.

This is my first page, it stays in my book. I will do some journaling on the backside....any day now. That milkcap roof was inspired by a roof made by the amazing Katie
Watson.

Rare photo of me and hubs, he detests this photo, I love it.

This next page is one that I am giving away. It is for Silvia and her theme is What I've Learned", I wrote a little about how grateful I am to stay at home with the kids. I don't mind giving up my career, but the salary is missed!

I actually have one more page to do, it is for Gen. Her theme is "the little things", I have a lot of the lay out done, it is the journaling that I am stuck on. Due the first week of July.
Oh, good news, I got my big ol box from Purple Cows today. We are partners with other scrapbooking companies and we got a ton of stuff from...Cosmo Cricket, Imaginesce, Glue Arts, Hambly, Dove of the East, Core'dinations, Clear Scraps~ I told you it was a lot of stuff!!!

Can you spot the woodgrain stamp?
