Get Well Soon
A Little More Color
Did you know that I am a little obsessed with all things British? Well, I am. My latest discovery is the author Chris Cleave. Check out the cover of his newest book Little Bee...
AMAZING art by Roberto de Vicq de Cumptich and so far the book is fabulous. It would ruin the story to give you a synopsis, but I can tell you that it is about a Nigerian girl and a British woman and how their lives collided. The silhouette is fantastic and I adore the typeface. Love it.

A Banner Day
Happy Monday! Just got back from the doc, Lily had her 15 month appt. and she has a clean bill of health. She will need to see an allergist about a possible peanut allergy. Last December I took a fun class over at Paper Tales taught by Katie Watson. She showed us how to make the purdiest Christmas banners with the Maya Road Chipboard Banner books. Last night I made a Mother's Day banner using Fancy Pants paper, Prima velvet leaves,Maya Road~banner book, frames, bird, velvet flowers, ric rac. I also used some fun vintage elements~ the paper on the frames around the flowers is from a 1961 Farmers Almanac, used to keep track of your crops. I photocopied the pages to use in this project. I found the almanac in my grandmother's night stand when we had a few pieces of her furniture shipped from Tennessee. The ruler at the top of the banners is photocopied from the back cover the almanac. I inked just about all my edges with Ranger Sepia ink, as usual. The ribbon medallion was made from a ribbon that came off the packaging for a blanket~like my grandmother, I tend to save all kinds of junk.

A Mojo Monday with October Afternoon
Cousin Claire came over to play today, so after a trip to the library and a yummy lunch out, I made some cards while my girls played with their cousin. The first card was made from the sketch over at Mojo Monday and both of them are made from the beautiful papers of October Afternoon. October Afternoon is one my all time favorites.

Super Simple Card and a New Challenge
This card was made for the Cuttlebug challenge, the recipe was to make a simple card using the colors ivory, black and kraft. I had to add the raspberry colored glitter to my cupcake, it just didn't seemed finished without it
.
I found a new challenge for scrapbooking. 52 weeks, 52 sketches. They provide a weekly sketch and you upload your finished work. I loved the sketch this week and I thought it would work perfectly with these old milkcaps. The lotto paper is Sassafrass Lass and the red dots are left over from my Bitty House in the previous post. The notebook paper that I journaled on is from the packaging of some October Afternoon letter stickers.

A Granny Flat in the Back

Another extremely warm day here in So Cal~ too hot for me, but anything above 71 degrees is too hot for me.Next up is the last of my houses...for now. It is the Maya Road Townhouse and it really is a bitty thing, just 5.5 inches tall. Once I figured out what I wanted to do with it-it was fun to play with.
Here are some of the details...the roof is made from vintage "Flinch" playing cards-they are smaller than the standard playing card. Between cards I layered Maya Road pom pom fringe. The scalloped eaves are made from Dresden foil-mine was blue and I painted over it. The front of the house is from a very old dictionary and I used pins and the sheer numeral from Maya Rd. The windows have a page from Winnie the Pooh layered beneath them and Close to My Heart Liquid Glass in the windows. I'm thinking these would be fun as Christmas gifts or use as a Christmas Ornament!

Tha weekly challenge at Caardvarks is to create a fantasy card and this is mine. Paper is from a K & CO paper pack, heart is Tim Holtz, wings are Maya Road.

Pinch Me!
First off, here is a card I made with the Mojo Monday Sketch of the week. I had a hard time balancing all the elements, so my card is a teeny bit different than the original sketch. I used paper from Sassafrass Lass {Hog Heaven}.
If you voted for me over at 2 peas....thank you!! As of 1:38 PM PST I am #1 in votes and I am very very flattered, thank you! If you haven't voted...well, what are you waiting for? You can see the entire album here.
