Enchanted by Her

Being three really looks like a good time. Emma finds time each and every day to look especially nice. Her treasure chest has many beautiful frocks thanks to friends and family and she makes use of all of them. Love this little girl.

Lost Pictures

Somehow, I forgot to include these close ups of my little house. For the windows, I used a vintage linen tea towel. The bushes are from the Maya Road trees chipboard-I cut a tree in half. I have one more Maya Road house to make, it is a teeny one, only 5 or 6 inches tall and about 3 inches wide. My 3 year old has painted it white for me- inside and out. The sweet little dear is from Sassafras Lass, I get so much use out of this stamp set---Love it so much!

Spring Nest

Have you ever started something and it turned out to be something very different? Yep, that's where this lil house took me. I thought I was making another romantic cottage, but as it progressed, I knew I wanted something else, a touch of whimsy. Emma was thrilled to see the addition of woodland animals, she wants to know why they don't make it into all my projects. The roof is made from vintage lotto cards, I cut them up and layered them like roof shingles. Mica sprinkled on top provides the shimmer. This was my first time using mica, I love it! Hmm what else can I sprinkle it on? The house is from Maya Road, papers are Basic Grey and Cosmo Cricket.

Mojo Monday & Pink Elephant

More Pink Paislee scraps....and you haven't seen the last of them either! Mojo Monday had a sketch and The Pink Elephant had only one requirement this week, Buttons. I've got plenty of those! The rectangle was cut with a Spellbinders die and the little flowers were cut fron a Cuttlebug die. The greeting is a rub on from Cosmo Cricket. I feel like I haven't used any glitter in a while... I miss it.

CPS Weekly challenge

I have got lots of Pink Paislee's "Enchanting" paper scraps, so I thought I would use them rather than stuff em in a bag and forget about them. This little card is for the CPS challenge. I think it will be sent on to San Francisco this week for a baby shower that I will not be able to make. I am behind in my baby crafting. This week I want to make burp clothes, hair barrettes and journals for my preggy friends.

Newest Obsession

Do you see it? Can you guess what my newest obsession is? I gotta get some more...I need more...Vintage Milk Caps. They are my new favorite thing. I wonder how I could use them in a Christmas card...hmm.

I used one for the Mojo Monday card Challenge, there was a fun little sketch this week so I wanted to play. One of my dearest friends, who lives acroos the pond-just had a baby girl. The baby's middle name is Florence and I thought this milk cap from Florence Dairy would be perfect for her card. I just need to make some burp clothes now.

I also made a journal for Emma. I didn't have a place to write down all the funny and sweet things my little cupcake has been saying...like at Christmas when the four of us were in the car, coming down the mountain after playing in the snow, she said "Oh sh!t, Lily just dropped her binky." when I asked her if she heard that from daddy, she said, "No, you mommy." CAUGHT.

Needless to say, I have cleaned up my language.

My Lucky Day

I got an extra special delivery today. Last month I was the winner of a RAK drawing on Katie Watson's blog. If you have been reading my blog, you know that I admire Ms. Watson and love her style. So when i found out that her darling daughter picked my number....I was ecstatic , I knew then that I was a lucky girl. I found out today just how lucky....yes all this amazing stuff...she is incredibly generous and brought over this load of product!!!!!!!(ends up we live pretty close to each other and it would have been silly to mail it all.) Do you see all the mini albums? And included in this RAK is the kit for the class she just taught at Cool Scrapbook Stuff in Poway. That class and all the extra kits sold out, but I hear she is putting together 12 more kits for those who missed out you can get yours through the store. Mine is pictured here, it is the photo at the very top. Katie is also teaching at Paper Tales in San Diego this Sunday. Check out her blog for a peek at that amazing minibook.

One more thing.

Katie's brother in law was killed last summer by a drunk driver. He was only 19 years old.

She posted this and a link on her blog. I am reposting it here, I contacted my assemblyman thru this link and he has already gotten back to me.

Please let this inspire us to make changes and change the laws to protect others. There is a legislative proposal that would make the Ignition Interlock mandatory in the last 42 states that haven't already made it mandatory. This is SO easy to sign and send...all you do is click on this link Ignition Interlocks for convicted DUI drivers and fill out name, address etc on the left side and send, it's already written for you. You may add to it if you want or just keep it in the form letter. Takes 2 minutes. from the MADD site----"In 2007, almost 13,000 people were killed in crashes involving a drunk driver. Fortunately, there is a technology that has the potential to eliminate these preventable deaths -- the ignition interlock. These sophisticated devices can prevent a vehicle from being driven by a drunk driver. If they are used correctly -- in concert with treatment, in addition to hard license suspensions and in the vehicles until they are no longer needed -- they can stop repeat offenses.People who have previous drunk driving convictions make up approximately one-third of the drunk driving problem in America. These are people who have been failed by a system that has in turn failed to keep the rest of us safe. Even first-time offenses are serious indicators that a person is likely to become a repeat offender. First-time offenders have driven drunk an average of 87 times before they are convicted and most likely have a serious problem with alcohol. Studies have shown that ignition interlocks can decrease repeat offenses by 64%. We have the technology and we know how to reverse the trend, but the laws haven't been passed yet making this technology mandatory for ALL convicted DUI offenders. Currently eight states mandate or provide strong incentives for ignition interlocks for all persons convicted of DUI -- Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Louisiana, Nebraska, New Mexico and Washington. If you are a resident of one of the other 42 states contact your legislators and tell them you support saving lives and eliminating repeat drunk driving offenses by mandating ignition interlocks for all convicted DUI offenders. "

Thank you Katie for making my week!!!!!

Something for my BFF and a Critter card

I have a croppin' date with my BFF tomorrow and this is for her. The jar is from Michael's and I order my glassine bags off ebay. I order from a stamp-coin dealer, I like the really thin glassine bags best.

Caardvarks has a really cute challenge this week, CRITTERS, here is my take on it.

Personal Space

Just thought I would share a little before and after of my little studio nook. It is in the family room next to the kitchen. I really love having it here rather than a separate room, sometimes I can finish a project while the kids are playing . So it is usually clean one day per week! The cabinets and countertop are from Ikea, a present from my mom. Thanks mom!

Crafty Kraft

Naptime has not been in sync around here so i haven't had as much time as I like to craft it up. I did find time to scoot over to Michael's and find the K and Co stack of paper, "Cut n Paste" I fell in love with this line a couple months ago, but could only find a few of the designs -I noticed on Emma's Paperie, this was a new item and wouldn't you know it, there it was at my Michaels!!! They didn't have any of the embellishments, I will have to order those. I made this card for the Caardvarks Challenge-this week you had to use kraft paper/board. My kraft board came from a piece of trash. The Design Team has really beautiful examples this week. Thanks for checking out my blog! Thank you for the kind comments too!
